Donor programme availabilities have assumed a prominent role in the management of infertile couples. We at our centre offer range of donor programmes to meet your requirements.
Semen Donation
Donor Insemination(DI)uses frozen sperm from an anonymous donor to help the woman become pregnant. Donor samples are available from Registered ART Banks. The donor is screened for HIV, Hepatitis B and C. Indications of semen donation are
- Male factory infertility
- Genetic disorders
- Women without male partner
Efforts are made to match the physical features, blood group, Rh compatibility and socio-economic status of donor with the husband.
Oocyte Donation
Oocyte donation is a procedure in which donor oocytes are fertilized with husband’s semen of the desirous couple and the resultant embryos are transferred to the female partner.
Oocytes are obtained for donation from other young women. Donors should be healthy woman in the age group of 18-35 years. She is screened for HIV, hepatitis B and C.
Donor woman or frozen oocytes can be obtained from Registered ART Banks
Indications for Oocyte Donation
- Premature ovarian failure.
- Ovarian surgery
- Cancer woman treated with radiation or chemical therapy.
- Women who are poor responders to ovulation induction.
- Genetic disorder
- Women who have attained menopause.
Embryo Donation
Embryo donation can be carried out in menopausal women, single or married desiring to have a child. It is wonderful that the endometrium of menopausal woman has the ability to respond to sex hormones and provide a receptive environment for the implantation of an embryo.
For embryo donation both donor semen and oocytes are required.
